REDROW has completed the purchase of a 3.5 acre site in Lancashire’s scenic Ribble Valley as it builds its portfolio of land in the region.

Situated off Dale View, in the village of Billington, Redrow’s proposals for the location - subject to planning - include 26 detached homes for private sale, plus eight affordable apartments and two affordable semi-detached bungalows for over-55s.

The land purchase follows another acquisition by Redrow of almost five acres in Fulwood, north of Preston. The home builder plans to extend its already successful Tabley Green development in Fulwood by building an additional 36 homes on the new plot.

Claire Jarvis, managing director for Redrow (Lancashire), said: “These two new acquisitions are part of our ongoing drive to buy land in 2021 and build a strong pipeline of sites for the future. We are actively looking for new development land in the Ribble Valley area.

“In fact, our patch includes all parts of Lancashire as well as areas of Merseyside and Cheshire, stretching south to the M56 corridor, so we are keen to hear from landowners in all areas.”

Redrow is already active in the Ribble Valley, currently selling new homes at Oak Leigh Gardens in Barrow, and believes the property market in the area is strong.

Claire added: “The Ribble Valley has a strong appeal to home movers as it offers naturally beautiful landscapes as well as good transport links and excellent amenities.  Billington is less than a mile from the larger village of Whalley, which regularly appears in lists of the best places to live in Britain. Our new development borders a previous Redrow development so we are well known in this part of Lancashire.

“Our plans include a range of our Heritage Collection detached properties, with layouts from 1,081 sq ft to 1,855 sq ft, and we are confident our designs will prove popular with the local market.”

Subject to planning, Redrow hopes to start work building the new Billington homes towards the end of this year. The development will also feature footpaths and a landscaped area around a new balancing pond, which will provide habitats for native wildlife.

The homes will initially go on sale from Oak Leigh Gardens and build will last approximately 18 months.

In Fulwood, off Tabley Lane, Redrow will complement its existing development with a new mix of larger detached homes from its Heritage Collection to meet local demand. The 36 new properties will include 11 affordable homes and a new play area will be incorporated into the site, which already benefits from planning permission.
