Leading construction company hires ice cream van including 100 free ice creams for children at a community street party
Halsall Construction Ltd donates free ice cream to the residents of Sevier Street in support of Brooks Dye Works community
Residents of Sevier Street in St. Werburghs, Bristol has received a generous contribution of 100 free ice creams for children and a daily hire of a local ice cream van, from leading construction company, Halsall Construction Ltd.
The contribution was hugely appreciated by the residents of Sevier Street where a street party was held in aid of celebrating being able to be together again after what has been a difficult 18 months in these unprecedented times.
The day was a huge success with residents queueing to claim their favourite ice cream. The day also consisted of various sound systems, Jerkpans, Rum and Cider stalls, Zumba dancers and music workshops. For the children, there were various sweet and healthy treat stalls, face painting and, a bubble machine. Acorn Property Group also organised a visit from the Children’s Scrapstore who held some creative play workshops.
Paula Isaacs, community organiser and resident of Sevier Street said: “We just wanted a day to remember after a year we'll never forget. Being locked away in our back gardens and not being able to see or speak to each other face to face has been horrible.”
Andy Corp, Managing Director of Halsall Construction Ltd said: “It is incredibly important to us to make a positive difference in the communities within which we are building in. We are very pleased to be able to contribute towards such an important event for the residents of Sevier Street.”

The team at Halsall Construction Ltd are also raising money for their charity of the year – Lisa’s Army who provide unique experiences for those affected by cancer. So far they have raised £3,699 with the aim of reaching a target of £15,000.
Halsall Construction Ltd, in conjunction with Acorn Property Group and Galliard Homes, is delivering 113 homes on the Brooks Dye Works site, breathing new life into the disused site to complement the surrounding area. The new addition to the community has just less than 50% of its homes remaining.
