Carter Jonas appointed as Town Planning Advisor for the Science and Technology Facilities Council
National property consultancy Carter Jonas has been awarded a two-year contract to act as the retained planning consultants for the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to advise on all planning matters. The contract includes land at STFC’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, near Didcot in Oxfordshire, it’s conference centre Cosener’s House, Abingdon and the Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire.
STFC is part of the non-departmental public body the UK Research and Innovation, the national organisation which works in partnership with universities, research organisations, businesses, charities and Government to encourage research and innovation. STFC supports research in innovative science and technology work, including astronomy, physics, scientific computing, space science and operates world-class research facilities for the UK.

Carter Jonas’ Oxford office has advised the Science and Technology Facilities Council on planning matters for over ten years. During this tenure, planning permission has been received for a number of large-scale developments, including for the Rosalind Franklin institute (RFI), National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF) and the national Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC).
