First-time buyers event hosted at Whiteley Meadows location in Hampshire

First-time buyers found out all they needed to know about buying a new home at Bovis Homes’ Whiteley Meadows location in Whiteley at an event that occurred on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November.

The housebuilder hosted a free two-day event at the development east of Southampton, so that potential buyers could look around selected two-bedroom properties and find out more about the house-buying process and what the possibilities are within their budget.

Sales Manager at Whiteley Meadows, Lisa King, said: “This was a great opportunity for people who were thinking about buying their first home. By speaking to an independent financial advisor at the event they made the first steps towards understanding what they can afford and what is possible.

“Financial considerations are also a key part of the discussion about energy efficiency. Bovis Homes’ new-build properties have energy-efficient features which can save people hundreds of pounds a year compared to the cost of heating and powering older properties.

“The event was a chance for people to get inspired and start to imagine themselves in one of our stylish and modern homes. Our Hawthorn house type, which has a contemporary open-plan layout on the ground floor with French doors leading to the garden, plus two double bedrooms upstairs, was available to view on the day and it is the perfect place for a first-time buyer.”

Bovis Homes’ new-build properties at Whiteley Meadows have an EPC rating (Energy Performance Certificate) of A or B. Home Builders Federation (HBF) research found that only four per cent of existing properties are at that standard of energy efficiency.

According to the HBF on average the monthly energy bill for a new-build property, including apartments and houses, is around £135 cheaper than for an existing property, and for a new-build house in particular the savings are even greater, with an average monthly saving of £183.

The Whiteley Meadows Bovis Homes sales office is open seven days a week from 10am-5pm with a sales team there to answer any questions.

There’s currently a choice of two-bedroom Hawthorn properties available to reserve at the development, with prices starting from £319,000. Further three and four-bedroom houses are also for sale, from £415,000 and £515,000 respectively.
