  1. Make space for mindfulness

This may seem difficult, especially if your garden space is small - but with exercise and mindfulness being very important to many, showcasing that your garden space can cater to exercise may open you up to a whole new calibre of buyers.

Try clearing some space to create an outdoor workout area, and simply show this off by photographing an exercise or yoga mat surrounded by outdoor shrubbery.

Want to go one step further? Including a water feature that helps with meditation might seal the deal.

  1. Cling on to cottage-core

The cottagecore trend exploded in 2024 and is expected to continue in 2025, especially in outdoor areas. Cottagecore gardens are all about embracing nature's wild beauty, so a simple way to do this in your garden is to purchase wildflower seeds and let nature do its thing in your flower beds.

This romantic and practical style might appeal to nature lovers, younger buyers or green-fingered garden lovers.

  1. Low-maintenance front gardens

If your property has a front garden, many people are looking for low-maintenance spaces that easily cater to adding a charger for an electric vehicle.

Think permeable paving, gravel pathways and low-maintenance plants such as a camellia for a pop of colour in your property's sale photos.

  1. Edible plants and shrubbery

With sustainability being at the forefront of many people's minds this year, your garden having edible plants and shrubbery is a big selling point.

From apple trees to small areas to plant a vegetable patch, not only will this help with sustainability, but being able to grow your own food will save the next homeowners money in their food shops - which is a huge selling point, especially in the cost of living crisis.

To make your garden look even more appealing, look into planting a blueberry bush. These superfoods are in high demand by growers and retailers but are somewhat easy to grow at home.

  1.  Easy-to-care-for bedding

Your garden space needs to have a pop of colour, but many homeowners want this to come at no cost - so, your bedding needs to be little to no maintenance. Consider planting Heathers in your bedding as they don't require a lot of work but are great pollinators, which both your potential buyer will love, as well as bees.

Andrew Binstock, a property expert who regularly features on Homes Under the Hammer comments on the research:

"It's currently a tough property market for sellers off the back of Stamp Duty changes, meaning sellers need to do everything they can to increase their property's curb appeal.

"Making small garden tweaks can help a property sell - especially now that we're going into the warmer months where people want to spend more time outside. Making small changes, such as adding easy-to-care-for bedding with a pop of colour, or hopping onto trends, such as cottagecore, and showcasing this in your property imagery can make the difference between selling quickly and being on the market for a long time."
